Following our successful test event last year, we are pleased to welcome you to the first open edition of the Dundee 10k on Sunday 7 June 2026! Run on a flat, scenic route between Broughty Ferry and Monifieth, it's an event for everyone, from those running 10k for the first time to experienced runners looking for PBs. Entries opened on EntryCentral on 6pm on Sunday 4 January and sold out in just over 30 minutes.
RACE STARTS AT 9.30 am.
Registration will be open from 8am at Broughty Castle Bowling Club in Broughty Ferry. Please arrive by 9am to collect your race number.
Start: The start is on Castle Approach, which will be closed to traffic for the duration of the event.
Changing: Please arrive ready to run - there will be no changing facilities. There are no showers available. There will be a place to leave kit, but the organisers will not accept responsibility for loss of, or damage to belongings left there.
Travel: We recommend active travel, public transport or car sharing. The start is on National Cycle Route 1 and is also a short walk from a bus stop. If driving, parking is available in the streets near the start, the Broughty Ferry Beach car park and at the Barnhill end of The Esplanade.
Route and Water Stations: The route is accurately measured and follows a flat route to Monifieth, followed by a loop and a return to Broughty Ferry, with an extra out-and-back section on the way back. Marshals will be present throughout the route at key points. There will also be directional signage and mile markers. There will be a water station that you pass at aproximately 4km and then again at 5km.
Timing: The race will be chip timed, so your time will not start until you cross the start line. However, prizes will be decided based on finishing order (gun time).
Medal: All finishers will receive a customised medal.
Headphones: The course is on public paths, and in keeping with UK Athletics rules we ask runners not to wear over-ear or in-ear headphones unless medically prescribed. Bone-conducting headphones are permitted.
First Aid: First aid cover will be provided on the day.
The Finish is in the same place as the start.
Time Limit: There is no set time limit, however we ask that you let us know in advance if you are likely to take more than two hours to cover the 10km.
Results: Provisional results will be available shortly after you finish. Final results will be on the Scottish Athletics website within a week of the race.
Prizes: The presentation will start at approximately 11am.
Cash prizes will be awarded as follows (both male and female):
1st: £70, 2nd: £60, 3rd: £50
1st U20, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70-79: £40
