Dundee Roadrunners

Training
We meet four times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. You can sign up for sessions on TeamApp. Download the app and search for Dundee Roadrunners, or use the web version. Members are welcome to attend as many of these sessions as they like. Guests are also welcome during their free two-week trial membership.
Monday trails: trail runs on hilly, flat and in-between routes. Meeting venues vary each week, details can be found on TeamApp. These runs are done as a group, so no one is left behind. On the first and third Mondays each month there is a split into a harder group and an easier group, which is a good place to start if you are new to trail running or prefer to run at a slower pace. The easier group runs approximately 6 miles on rough but manageable undulating terrain and is inclusive with lots of regrouping. The harder group tends to involve more difficult terrain and more elevation.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays we meet at Dundee Students Union (to the rear of the building) at 6.20pm for a 6.30pm start. On the first Tuesday of every month from May to September, we meet at Clatto Park. On the first Tuesday of months from October to March we meet for the Galaxy run. The location for this is Wright Avenue (off Riverside Drive).
Tuesday social run: each Tuesday there is the choice of a 4, 6 and 8 mile mile route. We split into groups on the night, with the range of paces typically being between 4:30/km and 7 min/km (7-11 min/mile), but there are often runners who are faster or slower than this. We always have a tail runner for the 4 and 6 mile routes to run with the last runners and make sure we don’t lose anyone. The routes are available to view in the 'Training' section of the website.
Thursday reps: sessions organised by our coaches. These alternate between short reps, long reps and hill reps. We all run in the same area together, so you won't be alone even if you are faster or slower than most of the group. The sessions will be adapted to your ability level by setting the number, distance or pace of the reps. Our coaches will also be happy to assist if you have any questions on training. Details of the sessions are posted on TeamApp.
Sunday: a long run of approximately 20km (12 miles) meeting at 8am from various meeting points. Information is posted on TeamApp. Typically the faster group runs at about 4:30-5 min/km (7-8 min/mile), with others running at around 6 min/km (9:30/mile), but all are welcome and if you post a comment on the run on TeamApp you may find someone who would like to run with you at a different pace. We sometimes also catch up for coffee after the run, which you are welcome to come along to even if you have run separately rather than with the club group
Some members also meet up seprately on an informal basis to run together at other times and locations. While these are not official club sessions, members are welcome to use the club Facebook or TeamApp to seek out people to run with.
Many of our members run, walk or volunteer at parkrun at 9.30am on Saturday mornings. Local parkruns include Camperdown, West Links, Forfar Loch, Montrose, St Andrews and Perth. We encourage our members to add Dundee Roadrunners as their club on their parkrun profile.
